Imagine trying to work online without a computer. Er, impossible?
Well, that’s currently life for well over one million pupils in lockdown #3 who do not have a laptop, desktop or a tablet at home.
Digital exclusion is a big enough problem at the best of times. In 2021, with remote learning the new normal, it is potentially a catastrophe for a whole generation of our school children.
CloudyIT is partnering with new charity, Cloudy Foundation, to appeal to our business network and community to help change that for local children.
We are asking for donations of old, unwanted laptops and PCs to go to these school children for us to restore them with a full service and factory reset to get them to full working order for them to go to local children who need them most.
Working alongside Cloudy Foundation, and our friends at Transitions UK, Bourton Meadow Academy, George Granville Academy and Lace Hill Academy, we will be gifting all donated laptops and PCs to the families they have identified in north Buckinghamshire.
We have a target of 49 devices that we hope to hit as quickly as possible.
With your help, together we can help make schoolwork in lockdown possible and give these children a real opportunity to shine in future.
