We did it!
We are thrilled to have been awarded a Silver Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) accreditation and to be recognised among the world’s leading organisations investing in doing socially responsible business.
As anyone who works with us knows, we have been supporting our local community and doing various socially responsible activities over the years without formally applying the CSR label to it.
Showing we are an organisation that cares
We recognise that our managed service customers (comprising councils, legal firms, and SMEs) know the importance of serving community as well as we do, and as sustainable business increasingly becomes an operating standard and an essential business strategy, we felt it was time to define our CSR commitment with official accreditation.
We are delighted that our silver CSR accreditation provides a platform to showcase some of our amazing CSR stories and an overall positive message about how our day-to-day business embeds our work with the community, support for our staff, care for our stakeholders and protection for the environment.
The process
It has been an enlightening experience to do the CSR audit for our application assessment, and to discover our strengths and opportunities for improving under the four benchmarking pillars: Environment, Community, Workplace & Philanthropy.
Since conducting our audit, we have developed a CSR Company Policy to share with our employees and help drive more defined and measurable company change for us to do better, more sustainable, and ethical business in future.
Our achievements
We have always put people first in our business, from looking after our staff and our customers to supporting and strengthening our local environment and community around us. We intend to keep building on the great work we are doing to value people and diversity, encourage learning, minimise energy consumption, support charities and community through partnerships, and promote a fair working environment that supports a healthy work-life balance and fulfilling careers. Our Cloudy Enterprise Academy alone, shows how seriously we take our CSR investment in the future of digital services and supporting young people in tech.
Promoting positive change
In the spirit of us striving for continual improvement, measures are already being put in place to drive positive change in all areas but particularly under the Environmental CSR pillar.
We have established a new partnership with not-for-profit social enterprise, Sustainably Run (previously known as Green Earth Appeal), to help some of the planet’s poorest communities through tree planting and to help offset carbon. As such, every new client who joins our modernisation programme will have a tree planted in their name and receive a certificate to evidence it. In addition, all future events that we run, including our upcoming Cyber Security Virtual Summit taking place on 30 November 2020, will have a dedicated pre-agreed number of trees planted on Cloudy Group’s behalf to further contribute to this amazing campaign that is creating sustainable and productive communities throughout the developing world by financing the teaching and empowering of rural groups to grow renewable forests for agriculture, food, firewood, construction, and animal habitat.
