CloudyGroup was pleased to have reporter, Claire Penketh, from the Chartered Institute of IT join the App-Prentice Challenge team for our visit to Aylesbury Vale Academy (AVA) back in June 2019. This marked our first event of 2019, where AVA’s Year 9s took on the Challenge in spectacular form. Read more about the event here
Claire was there to witness what went on and played an active part in getting to know the students, teachers and CloudyGroup partners involved. She immersed herself in the Expo to talk to everyone and she was able to observe the proceedings behind the judging panel when the students were doing their presentation pitches. This sense of real-life perspective from individual’s participating in the Challenge really came through in her article, which you can read on the British Computer Society website, where the article was titled: ‘Appiness comes to an Aylesbury School.
CloudyGroup is proud to have this case study documenting the first-hand experiences of everyone involved on the App-Prentice Challenge at AVA. Little did we know it at the time, but the Year 9 AVA winning team would go on to take the overall prize for App-Prentice Challenge 2019 at EntFest; receiving more public votes than the other App submissions presented by the Year 10 winning teams from Bucks University Technical College (BUTC) and Mandeville School.
