CloudyGroup is delighted to have made the awards shortlist for Small Employer of the Year on the Careers & Enterprise Company’s Careers Awards 2019.
The Awards recognise the incredible work underway by schools and colleges, businesses, volunteers, Local Enterprise Partnerships and careers providers inspiring and preparing young people for success in the world of work.
The Cloudy Enterprise Academy has been acknowledged for its work in this area as Cloudy and partners have worked with all the above-mentioned stakeholders to give hundreds of Buckinghamshire students different, more entrepreneurial, approach to learning and developing skills for the modern workplace.
This has been achieved through the App-Prentice Challenge programme over the last couple of years, where students have been tasked with finding digital solutions using information and communications technology (ICT), business practices and people skills.
Together, all partners on the App-Prentice Challenge aim to empower students by giving them the opportunity to explore modern tools and business-related subjects in exciting new ways, giving them a taste of the world of work.
Not only does this help these young people to discover their employment skills but they also gain practical, hands-on careers guidance from all partners involved.
True to the principles of the Gatsby Benchmark, this also provides students with the opportunity to develop relationships with local business contacts that has the potential to lead to unique career prospects and give them a rewarding head-start in the tech and digital service marketplace.
Supporting schools and colleges to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks is central to the mission of the Careers & Enterprise Company. In partnering on the Careers Excellence Awards 2019, best practice careers provision is firmly in focus from the hard work of schools, colleges, employers and other providers involved across the UK. CloudyGroup is proud to be part of this group and the celebration of this work to inspire and prepare young people for the future workplace.
CloudyGroup Managing Director, David Hall, said:
“We’re over the moon that we have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award. The whole team have worked so hard over the last couple of years to develop this exciting programme and to be shortlisted really reinforces that what we are doing is making a difference to the students and schools we work with.
I would also like to thank the Bucks Careers Hub for nominating us and our other key partners including Microsoft Education UK, The University of Buckingham and Study Higher. Without their support The App-Prentice programme would not have been the success it has been.”
The Careers Excellence Awards ceremony takes place on Friday 27 September at the Royal Society of Chemistry Burlington House, Piccadilly, where the winning and highly commended entries, will be announced.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed…
